societies outside of Metro Manila.

IT PROFESSIONALS' CONGRESS
With the theme "e-compass: Finding True North" the 7th IT
Professionals' IT Congress is the culminating event of the monthly Professional
Development Programs - our half day seminars with back-to-back sessions
on technical or "IQ" related topics and the soft side or "EQ"
topics aimed at providing tools necessary in balancing the professional
and personal aspects of an IT practitioner. This event which coincides
with the 35th PCS Anniversary Celebration will be held on April 26,
2002.

IT
OUTREACH PROGRAM
PCS, in coordination with the Makati Rotary Club, conducts short courses
on computer literacy and usage for our out-of-school youths in Metro
Manila. It started in 1990 and has already trained more than 700 scholars.
PCS likewise assists the successful graduates in acquiring jobs in catcher-companies.

PROGRAMMING COMPETITIONS
This committee is in-charge of implementing the guidelines
& activities and training the students who participate in the International
Software Competitions being organized by SEARCC.

& COMMUNICATIONS
Keeping the
PCS membership informed of all the activities of the Society is the
primary role of the PubCom Committee. The Committee maintains the
Society's website (www.pcs-it.org),
which serves the electronic newsletter that can be reached by both PCS
members and non-members alike from all over the globe. In addition,
the Committee, with the help of the PCS Secretariat, provides members
with regular announcements/notices and updates via e-mail, fax messages,
and telephone calls.
