Public-Private Partnerships to push national ICT agenda

A strong public and private partnership is crucial in harnessing the opportunities brought about by the effective use of ICT. This is the key message delivered by Secretary Ray Anthony Roxas-Chua III of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) in his speech at the recently concluded 12th ICT Professionals’ Congress.

Organized by the Philippine Computer Society (PCS), the congress has once more successfully brought together stakeholders in the industry in the sectors of government, industry and the academe.Chua stressed, “CICT has always been supportive of the PCS. After all, both institutions have a mutual goal of enriching the ICT profession to realize an ICT-enabled Philippines.”

ICT Confab to focus on Education, Business, Economy

Information and communication technologies (ICT) can be used in a multitude of ways to improve Philippine education, business and economy. But with so many products and services being offered out there, how and which technologies should we maximize to our full advantage? How do we keep up with all the technological advances?      

Answers to these and other key information can be obtained at this year's ICT Professionals’ Congress (ICTPC) being organized by leading industry organization, the Philippine Computer Society (PCS). The ICTPC will focus on how ICT can “Enable the Education,” “Empower the Business,” and “Enrich the Economy,” and will serve as a venue for exploring new technologies, establishing new contacts, and reviewing trends and issues related to the effective integration of ICT covering the Soft Skills, Applications and Infrastructure.

JPCS Leadership Seminar

The Junior Philippine Computer Society (JPCS) held their annual Leadership Transformation Workshop and Election (LTWE) at La Vista Pansol Resort, Norville Subdivision, Barangay Pansol,  Calamba Laguna. 

It was a three-day activity from August 10-12 wherein most of the participants were presidents and vice presidents of JPCS chapters all over the Philippines.  

This LTWE is the process of training each officer to be well rounded, efficient and effective leader of the JPCS National Board and their Local Chapters. The seminar catered activities and exercises to bring out the best in them in doing their duties and responsibilities as a productive and developed leader of their respective institutions.   It was a different kind of leadership training which will build and develop their ability to be an efficient, effective, and motivated leader of all leaders.  

This event was also the key in choosing and evaluating selected local chapter officers to be one of thenew National Board Officers of the Junior Philippine Computer Society for the fiscal year 2007-2008.
