As part of its 40th year celebration, the Philippine Computer Society is embarking on a training road show starting this June to various schools in Metro Manila for graduating college students, providing them the tools and skills necessary to find a job in an intensely competitive market. The 3 hour training sessions entitled “Passing the Job Interview with PCS (Planning, Confidence, Smarts)” are conducted by industry leaders representing prestigious companies such as Accenture, Microsoft, PLDT and SVI. Through this training, graduating students will learn the following essential tips: q How to write a resume and application letter q How to plan for the interview q What to wear during the interview q How to answer difficult interview questions q How to turn a rejection into a positive

The Turn-over and Induction Ceremonies of the 2007-2008 Board of Directors was one the highlights during the PCS Monthly Membership Meeting (MMM) and Professional Development Program (PDP) held last June 26, 2007 at Microsoft Vista Theater with Mr. Antonio “TJ” Javier, Jr., Managing Director of Microsoft Philippines as the inducting officer. While SGV-DDI being one of PCS’s industry-partner for the MMM and PDP featured leadership blueprint with the theme: Leadership Series 8 Session: “Inspire Trust and Loyalty”. The session covered: Building Trust; Facilitating Change; Inspiring Others; Leading through Vision and Values; and Valuing Diversity and Leadership Series – The Next Level
In appreciation for their selfless dedication, the outgoing president, Mr. Titus Manuel recognized selected PCS board of Directors and Chairs of FY 2006-2007 for its unweaving commitment to the organization. In his inaugural address, the newly inducted president, Mr. Peter Que mentioned the upcoming projects and plans of activities of PCS and promised to maintain the excellence and pride of PCS. He also thanked the outgoing board members for their teamwork and dedication. And lastly, a much deserved recognition was given to the outgoing president Mr. Titus Manuel for leaving a treasured mark on PCS history during his term. |
