The Philippine Computer Society (PCS), the premier organization of professionals in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry in the country, officially announces the program launch of its annual major event, the 13^th ICT Professionals’ Congress. 

Since its founding in 1967, PCS has spearheaded numerous local and international activities that strive to continuously promote, protect and enhance the ICT profession. The PCS’ various relevant and timely endeavors have resulted in initiatives toward effective legislation and quality technology adoption in the country. 

Slated on May 20-21, 2009 at the Hotel Dusit Thani, Makati City, the annual conference shall feature plenary sessions on the major developments and directions    of  global and local technology providers,  market leaders in wireless business  data   communication  and next generation mobile solutions, and insights from top CIOs, information systems executives and certified professionals.

Valuable inputs from the education sector and government policy-makers on ICT matters are also on the agenda, in the hope of addressing the mismatch between curriculum and the actual human capital needs of the industry. 

The event will also showcase best practices in offshoring and outsourcing as well as exhibit products and services from global and local solution providers, event sponsors and exhibitors.

PCS is a founding member of the Information Technology Foundation of the Philippines (ITFP) as well as of the South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC) the members of which include the national computer societies of Australia, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
