SynchronicITy Events - Season 2

The Philippine Computer Society (PCS) and the Philippine State Universities and Colleges Computer Education and Systems Society (PSUCCESS) are hosting SynchronicITy Events - Season 2, a 3-day Conference-Workshop on ICT and entreprenuership that would be of benefit to academe, government, SMEs, and ICT professionals which will be held on the following dates and venues:

With the theme “A Forum for ICT Excellence” this conference-workshop series aims to encourage a concerted effort toward the use of ICT as a tool for Philippine progress. Specific objectives of the conference-workshop series are as follows:

1. To facilitate better matching of manpower supply knowledge and skills with industry demand knowledge and skills by providing a series of events that each serve as a venue for:

2. To engender and encourage the application of creativity, innovation, inventiveness, entrepreneurship, and expertise among sponsors, endorsers, organizers, and participants so as to create an environment conducive to:

It is in line with these objectives that the SynchronicITy events offer a continuing series of sharing and learning activities that would allow for optimal synergy and encourage the undertaking of entrepreneurial initiatives among all. The 21st century is a time of frequent and drastic changes, an age of opportunity which those who are adequately prepared can take advantage of. The content of the SynchronicITy events are thus selected to enhance this preparation.

Now in its 2nd season, all SynchronicITy events will again be held concurrently with COMDDAP Expo, an ICT exhibits and technology updates event organized by the Computer Manufacturers, Distributors, and Dealers Association of the Philippines (COMDDAP). The exhibits and updates would most certainly be an enriching experience for all participants of the conference.

This season’s October event will include the following:

A. PreConference (October 6, 2004 at IT Center, PUP Manila)

• Target participants: tertiary students; basic education teachers, tertiary level faculty members, trainers. Participation fees to PreCon is Php300/pax.

B. CEO-CIO Kapihan ITo (by invitation only: October 8, 2004, Traders Hotel Manila)

o Sharing and learning best practices with and from fellow leaders;
o Hearing of developments and advances on the theory and practice of leadership and management;
o Discovering opportunities for collaboration and mutual advancement

The organizers are now in the process of acquiring endorsements for the SynchronicITy Events-Season 2 from the Office of the President, the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT), the Commission on Higher Education, the Department of Education, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). Copies of the endorsements will be posted on this site (www.pcs-it.org) as soon as these are available.
