THE SEARCH FOR THE OUTSTANDING CIO OF THE YEAR
A premiere project of the Philippine Computer Society

These awards honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding contribution, leadership and business acumen in leveraging Information Technology (IT) and other related technologies to achieve business goals and strategy. It is to Chief Information Officers by fellow IT professionals who have demonstrated excellence in implementing and/or managing their organization’s enterprise-wide information systems and/or IT strategy.

CIO DEFINITION
For the purpose of this award, CIO is defined as any executive or leader who is accountable for, implements, and/or manages the organization’s enterprise-wide information systems, function or unit. He or she may have a different job title other than Chief Information Officer.

CATEGORIES

• Category A is for CIOs in Large Enterprise
• Category B is for CIOs in SMEs
• Category C is for Government/NGO/Education

COVERAGE
The Search for the Outstanding CIO covers the fiscal year 2002-2003 of the Philippine Computer Society.

CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must meet the following requirements:

1. Must be employed by a Philippine-based business or foreign-owned subsidiary based in the Philippines.
2. Must be primary accountable for the organization’s information technology function and/or unit.
3. Must be a member of the organization’s management team.
4. Must accept participation to post award activities such as becoming a member of the PCS Speakers Bureau.

• Recognition on the company’s accomplishments in areas such as outstanding utilization or information technology, industry specific applications, and/or benefit to the community or organization’s constituency.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

• Acceptance of entries- November 4, 2002 to January 31, 2003
• Screening of Entries- February 1, 2003 to April 30, 2003
• Judging, Interview and Selection of 9 semi-finalists- May 1, 2003 to June 20, 2003
• Proclamation of Winners and Awarding Ceremonies- June 26, 2003: Special IT Night Event of the 8th IT Professionals’ Congress SGV Hall, AIM Conference Center, Makati City

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

1. Nomination and/or application forms are available at:

2. Upon receipt of the nomination form, PCS will send an Acceptance Form (CIO Awards Form No. 2) to nominees who must accept the nomination and must agree to submit all documents and go through the screening and judging process that may be required by the CIO Awards Committee.
3. If accepted by the nominees, only Application Form (CIO Awards Form No.3) with complete documents will be pre-screened
4. Entries can be submitted starting November 4, 2002 until January 31, 2003 at the PCS Office.
5. Those who qualified for final judging shall be interviewed by the Panel of Final Board of Judges
