What is CICC?
The Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) was founded on June 1st, 1983 under the cooperation of Japanese Governmental agency (Ministry of International Trade and Industry; present Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and enterprises related to computerization. The purpose of the CICC foundation is to implement cooperation activities for promoting computerization in developing countries. To upgrade the skill level of information technology for the computer personnel in developing countries, CICC has offered computer training courses as one of its core activities since its establishment.

Training Courses
CICC takes pleasure in announcing that the following courses are implemented subsidized by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in cooperation with other related organizations in Japan.

A. IT Project Manager Training Course (PRO)

This course is designed to train IT supervisors or managers who will be in charge of the project management. The course introduces PMI’s Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK). The course covers the project management knowledge areas, project management human skills, and project management simulation. The course provides a blended training, combining e-Learning and lecture, exercises and discussion.

Upon completion of the course, trainees should be able to:
- introduce project management knowledge areas to their project members.
- manage a system development project.

B. Bridge System Engineer Training Course (BET)

This course is designed to train system engineers who understand Japanese language and business custom, and play a role of a "Bridge" to establish business alliances between the Japanese and own-country's IT industries. This course introduces the concept of the project life cycle, from planning to delivery, and project management. It provides lectures and practical training in detail for each process of the life cycle based on the proven concepts used in Japanese business organizations, including Japanese corporate culture and business customs.

Upon completion of the course, trainees should be able to:
- understand Japanese business manners, negotiation concepts and contracts with their Japanese counterparts.
- understand the user needs accurately and be able to submit proposals for system development.
- understand technique of system analysis and definition of user requirements.
- understand project management for an offshore system development project as a project leader.

General Qualifications of Applicants

Applicants should:

• be nominated by the Philippine Computer Society (PCS), the only recognized CICC counterpart organization in the country, and be recommended by their employer;
• have a university education or its equivalent education;
• have a sufficient working knowledge of spoken and written English.
• have no prior experiences of the CICC training program within the past two years;
• have no prior experiences of any CICC training courses equivalent to this course;
• be in good health, both physically and mentally, in order to complete the training course successfully. Pregnancy is regarded as a disqualifying condition for participation in this training course;
• be non-military personnel;
• be employed in the same organization during the course period, and must be in a position where the results of the training can be put to practical use. Students are not eligible;
• be of age between 20 and 50 when they participate in the course.

Condition of Technical Skills for PRO Course

• have prior experiences of project leader
• have no Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification of Project Management Institute in USA or equivalent Certifications in other countries
• have more than 1 year experience in using Windows
  have more than 3 years computer/network related work experience
• preferably have passed one of the examinations certificated mutually by regulatory authorities between Japan and India, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Chinese Taipei.

Condition of Technical Skills for BET Course

• be familiar with the operation of Windows 98 or later, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• have more than 3 years software development experience
• preferably have experience in offshore software development projects
• preferably have passed one of the IT engineers examinations certificated mutually by regulatory authorities between Japan and India, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Chinese Taipei.

Schedule of PRO and BET Trainings and Deadline of Submission of Applications

Documents to be submitted (2 hard copies each)

• CICC Application Form
• Copy of Passport or copy of ID card in case an applicant does not possess a passport yet.
• Company brochure or explanatory note
• Copy of Diploma

Registration fees

• P500.00 if pre-selected by PCS after evaluation of submitted documents.
• Additional P1,500.00 if selected by CICC as a successful applicant.

AOTS, a non-profit organization, was established in 1959 with the support of METI. Its main purpose is to promote technical cooperation for the industrialization and development of developing countries and enhance mutual understanding and friendly relationships between those countries and Japan. TKC, its training center in Tokyo, is designed to serve the trainees as a home-away-from-home as well as a place of study. (Accommodation is subject to change based on certain conditions.)

Allowances and Expenses
CICC bears the following expenses in accordance with its rules:

1. Round-trip air ticket (economy fare) between the respective international airport designated by CICC and Narita airport (Tokyo).
2. Initial allowance
3. Transportation fare between Narita airport and accommodation
4. Accommodation fee
5. Living allowance covering food and daily expenses
6. Transportation fare between accommodation and CICC
7. Fixed allowance on sending textbooks back after training period
8. Textbooks used in the course
9. Medical charges for trainees who may become ill after arrival in Japan. CICC will issue a card, named "Safety Card in Japan", which is valid during the training period. This card covers expenses for medical treatment in accordance with the health insurance law of Japan. Please note that the trainee should cover medical expenses incurred from any kinds of illness that may have been latent before coming to Japan. Dental care is not eligible.

Regulations
Trainees must:

1. observe and adhere to the rules of CICC strictly.
2. observe and adhere to the course curriculum strictly.
3. follow the flight schedule designated by CICC.
   CICC insures trainees against airplane accident to and from Japan. If an accident occurs, insurance will be paid to the trainees or their families through CICC. Upon trainees’ acceptance of CICC’s invitation, it is regarded that the trainees agree to the insurance plan of CICC. It is valid only for the flight schedule designated by CICC.
4. neither shorten nor extend the length of stay period in Japan.
5. not do any activities of job-hunting or work in Japan.
6. not return to their home countries temporarily during the training period.
7. not accompany with family members, relatives or friends in coming to Japan and during the training period.

If trainees break the regulations, they must return to their home countries at their own expenses. The total amount spent for the trainees must be returned to CICC, except in case of accident or disease recognized by CICC.
