A 3-day Seminar-Workshop on ICT and IT Education with Exhibit Show and Technology Updates

OVERVIEW

The Philippine Computer Society (PCS) is bringnig its Seminar-Workshop on ICT and IT Education to Western Visayas this July. Dubbed SynchronicITy in Iloilo, the event will be held together with "Giving you a Taste of the Digital Lifestyle", an ICT exhibits and technology updates event organized by the Computer Manufacturers, Distributors and Dealers Association of the Philippines (COMDDAP).

The first day of the seminar series is composed of general Information and Communications Technology (ICT) trends and developments, of interest to all who wish to gain a deeper insight into the contribution ICT may make to their lives and their work.

The second and third days will focus on topics for IT educators, designed around IT Curriculum Reengineering.

In a field characterized by rapid changes brought about by continuing by rapid changes brought about by continuing innovations in technology, schools must always be in sync with all these developments in order to maintain a high standard in the delivery of educational services. Hand-in-hand with curriculum development, IT educators must be able to design a curriculum that maintains a high standard of teaching in the traditional requirements of a holistic development of an individual, including the basic theoretical concepts of IT education and flexibility that allows for the inclusion of skills that are required of an IT professional, based on the current trends and innovations in the field.
